Scandinavian, Danish Hygge styles, are just perfect for Tipi’s, especially off the beaten track, woodlands

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Zoë and the owner of a vintage 1970’s CI Cadet Sprite caravan called Miss Molly. ‘Miss Molly The Vintage Caravan’ is a versatile lady and can be used as a sweet cart, fizz bar, for photography and afternoon teas for any personal event!

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

For me it is after the ceremony and seeing the bride and groom straight after. The atmosphere is always so happy and seeing the bride bloom with happiness is such a lovely sight.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Don’t overwhelm yourself. Prioritise and take it step by step. Some brides can get so stressed and forget that it is suppose to be an enjoyable experience! If in doubt, always seek advice.

What keeps you passionate?

Seeing a plan come together and the feeling it gives when you see the end result. Each booking I get is always a little different and personal, which I like. I love meeting new people and seeing their face when they see Miss Molly for the first time, it makes me so happy and reminds me why I do this kind of work.

Do you like to keep up with trends? What’s your biggest trend to watch currently?

To be honest Miss Molly suits a certain taste and suits those events/weddings which are a little different and quirky. People who book Miss Molly enjoy vintage style mixed with glamour and old work charm.  Due to this, I don’t feel I need to worry too much about trends. However, I do like keep an eye out on local wedding trends and speak to my wedding business friends with regards to what style of weddings are in such as festival themed and tepees.  With regards to Miss Molly I simply raid charity shops and car boots to find vintage gems, this is a cheap perk to owning a vintage caravan!

What’s next for your business?

I’d like to expand what services I offer and I want to get Miss Molly resprayed – I thinking, pastel colours, polka dots and floral.

Who are you and what do you do?

Deluxe Blooms is wedding florist based in Ilkley, and we specialise in luxury faux flowers and arrangements. We’ve searched long and hard for the very best silk flowers around, so even though they aren’t real, they still have the ‘wow’ factor! And, what’s more, we’re a less expensive option than real flowers for your wedding day, because you hire rather than buy from us. We can provide buttonholes, bouquets, table arrangements, alter/ church displays and floral crowns- to name just a few. Plus, I always gift the bride her bouquet to have as a wonderful keep sake. Faux flowers make a fabulous alternative to fresh if you have a smaller budget, if you suffer from allergies or you have a large space to fill!

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

The wedding ceremony is my favourite part of a wedding. There’s often so much to think about, the flowers, the guests, the menu, song choice etc. But the whole point of getting married is standing up in front of the people you care about and making a commitment to each other. Saying ‘I do’ is a very special moment and it always brings a tear to my eye.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

When it comes to flowers… Pinterest! And wedding magazines of course. Mainly because it’s so much fun, and organising your wedding can be stressful, so make it enjoyable where you can. Having a general idea of your wedding theme and colours is a huge help when meeting your suppliers, especially your florist. Have a Pinterest board prepared to show ideas, or ask them to create one for you. I’m more than happy to put together a mood board to help couples. It’s a great way to get your partner involved too.

What keeps you passionate?

It has to be working with couples! Getting to meet the bride/groom. Whether it’s just her, or she brings her partner, or with her mother and sisters, it’s always a pleasure. I’m passionate about what I do and I love meeting new people and seeing how excited they are about their wedding day. But the very, very best part is hearing how they met and how their love story began. I’m a sucker for romance!

Do you like to keep up with trends? What’s your biggest trend to watch currently?

It’s all about foliage! All types of greenery are being celebrated now. Eucalyptus is hugely popular, as are the other soft, grey toned greenery such as lambs ear and millers leaf. These also come in fabulous faux varieties! I’d even argue that they can look even better. Dahlias have also been this year’s new comer on the wedding scene. They’re a fabulous flower, real or faux, because they come in all sorts of different colours, they’re a good size which means you need less of them, and they’re very pretty with delicate petal details.

What’s next for your business?

We’re expanding our rental range for weddings. We already supply a large variety of flowers and different arrangements, and we even do faux floral crowns which are very popular, but I’m adventurous and want to offer more. Things like floral garlands that you can hire straight from the website to decorate your venue. Eventually we want to supply props and styling hire services, from candles, to wedding signs and more!

My name is Emily Brocklehurst and I am the Founder of Envytations. Envytations is a new UK startup which specialises in online e- invitations, designed to take the stress out of wedding & event planning. By sending professionally designed digital invitations straight to guests’ inboxes, we aim to simplify the invitation process without compromising on design or impact.

Covering all wedding events from Engagement Party, Hen Party, Save the Dates & Wedding invitations, we offer an affordable, modern day solution which takes the hassle out of wedding planning – leaving couples to spend more time & money on other elements of their big day.

To use Envytations, simply sign up, choose an existing design & customise your invite by adding details about your event. Invitations are then sent to guests via email; the invite then pops out of an animated envelope to wow your guests! Guest numbers are monitored using our clever online RSVP Tracker. The site also includes a new chatroom feature which allows guests to discuss the event.

We also provide a unique bespoke invitation service where we can customise invitations to match the clients’ wedding theme.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

Seeing a happy bride-to-be! We love to design bespoke invites for our clients – offering a personalised touch to match their thoughts & ideas for their big day. Wedding guests love to see something different & our service gives couples an easy way to get instant feedback & visibility, helping to minimise stress levels in the wedding planning process.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Listen to your own advice. Weddings come with such a wide range of options from venues to food and everyone you speak to will have an opinion on the latest idea or trend. Get the main elements booked and you can tweak & add extras as you go along – but make sure it is what you both want!

What keeps you passionate?

Being an entrepreneur is definitely a rollercoaster ride! – but having good friends & family who understand this & support you along the way has been invaluable. I think it is important to set goals on a regular basis to keep you focused on the big picture. It is easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day workload but having a step back & realising where you are going definitely keeps you passionate.

Do you like to keep up with trends? What’s your biggest trend to watch currently?

I love keeping up with trends but also like to go against the grain sometimes! There are so many new wedding based trends & ideas on Pinterest, so my advice would be to look online to get initial ideas but try to add a twist here & there to keep it unique to you.

We are looking to partner with events planners & venues to help organise big parties & weddings.

A Perfect Team

“Alice and Diane Photography” was born when we, as friends and both sharing a love of photography, realised we also made a fantastic team working together. The beauty of having two of us is we can be in two places at once! As one of us is capturing the bride getting ready the other is capturing the groom and the best man. As one is capturing the grand entrance of the bride the other is capturing the expression of the groom as he waits anxiously for her arrival.

Our styles complement each other and work well in producing beautiful photographs, capturing every detail of the day from two different views and perspectives. We are two individual professional photographers, combining our skills and passion to ensure our lovely clients receive stunning images that they can treasure for years to come.

So, who are we individually?

Diane

I would describe myself as a fun, happy go lucky, curious, free spirited soul who loves travelling! The love for photography grew from my travels around the world. It was an amazing experience to be able to capture the stories of people living in different cultures with different beliefs, through the eye of my camera.   Photography is my passion and there is nothing that makes me happier than being able to capture the emotions and ambience of someone’s special day or the buzz of an important event. As quoted by Confucius ‘If you love what you do, you will never do another day’s work in your life’! When I separate myself from my camera (which is not often!) I love spending time at the beach and catching up with those special people in my life over a coffee and cake or sometimes a nice glass of bubbly!

Alice

My love for photography began at an early age when my dad bought me my first camera at 7 years old. Rarely without a camera in my hand, from then onwards I documented almost every moment of family life and filled countless photo albums with snaps of family, pets and holidays. In my uni days I lived in my bathroom, which I had converted into a dark room, and began to explore photographing weddings and taking photos for local newspaper articles. Today my passion continues and I love nothing more than the privilege of capturing the details, atmosphere and emotions of the first day of a couple’s new chapter in their lives. I still continue with the endless pictures of family, of course, and my three year old daughter is the perfect model. Aside from photography my time is spent with my daughter and husband: adventures in the countryside, cosy nights in and enjoying life to the full.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

We just love weddings full stop so to choose a favourite part is difficult. I suppose the best part is the emotions you see and feel which is what we love to capture. The emotions of excitement and nerves from the bride’s room when she is getting ready and the emotions on the groom’s face when he sees his beautiful bride for the first time and of course the emotions on the first married kiss!

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

To make sure you look at current work of the people you are looking to hire and always check there are no hidden costs that are going to surprise you later on. Keep a diary of the planning as there is a lot to organise and it always feels less daunting on paper than circling around in your head!

What keeps you passionate?

Seeing the look on our clients faces when they get to relive their wedding day again looking through our photos. It is the best job ever and we never tire of looking at our photos.

Do you like to keep up with trends? What’s your biggest trend to watch currently?

We love keeping up with the latest wedding trends by following our favourite wedding blogs and ideas on Pinterest. Glad to see that gin at weddings is still having a moment for 2017 and warehouse wedding venues are set to be huge! We are constantly linking up with new businesses who are offering unusual and different ideas for weddings. We have just recently linked up with Memini Montage who professionally design a video montage to showcase our photos, bringing them to life and transforming them into a beautiful story that will stand the test of time. We are always on the search for new and unusual wedding venues and have just recently found a hidden gem, which we are very excited about!

What’s next for your business?

We are busy building our new website and preparing ourselves for lots of wedding fairs coming up as we approach the wedding season. We are also enjoying networking with other wedding service providers and to see how we can support each other in business and of course very importantly building relationships with new venues.

Who are you and what do you do?

Ingle & Rhode is an independent jeweller based in London, an ethical alternative to the traditional luxury brands. We focus mainly on engagement rings and wedding bands, and we only use materials that are traceable back to source – such as Fairtrade gold, recycled platinum, Fairmined silver, and Canadian diamonds.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

We tend to see clients when they are newly engaged and just before their weddings, so very happy and exciting times.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Be as organised as you can, but try not to get too stressed. After making a client’s engagement ring we generally see them a year later for the wedding bands, and they sometime look a bit tired – like they have too much on their plate. It’s important not to worry too much about the small things.

What keeps you passionate?

Maintaining the highest standards. Every single ring is important, it’s somebody’s engagement ring or wedding band.

Do you like to keep up with trends? What’s your biggest trend to watch currently?

Our most popular designs are timeless classics, so we’re not massively trend-driven. That being said we make most of our jewellery to order, and so we do see changing preferences over time. For example, rose gold is very popular at the moment.

What’s next for your business?

We specialise in bespoke commissions, but we are also planning to expand the range of our in house collection of designs that we hold in stock.

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Lisa Lucas LRPS, and the proud owner of Lisa Lucas Photography. I specialise in luxury wedding photography, but I also photograph Tudor and Medieval reenactment, being part of a Tudor reenactment group myself.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

I enjoy the start of the day, everybody getting ready, they’re all so excited for the day ahead. And it’s early on that I have the privilege to explore the ceremony and receptions rooms, depending on the venue of course, before the guests arrive. I can use this time to capture all the gorgeous details.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Make sure you meet your photographer before you book them. You may have visited their website, and fallen in love with their images, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to get on. Your photographer is the one supplier who will spend the entire day with you, so you as a couple must both feel comfortable and relaxed in your photographer’s company. If you don’t get on, if you don’t completely trust them to do the job, then it’s going to show in the photographs.

What keeps you passionate?

Other than absolutely loving photography and weddings, I simply adore meeting new couples and joining them on their planning journey to their ideal wedding. A wedding may have the same basic elements, but every single one is different, and I get so excited hearing about plans and seeing them come to fruition on the day.

Do you like to keep up with trends? What’s your biggest trend to watch currently?

I’m extremely passionate about my couples taking away a gorgeous photobook of their images, so I include one in my photography package. In my opinion, there’s nothing quite like sitting down together, with a glass of fizz and looking through a book at your images – an online gallery just isn’t the same. The trend for having a photobook seems to come and go, but I will always offer one.

What’s next for your business?

I’m very excited for 2017 as I continue to build my business, invest in myself as a female entrepreneur, and work with wonderful couples on their luxurious weddings. I’m also looking for my first couple who are having a Tudor-themed wedding – with my passion for this period in history, it would be such a pleasure to photograph.

How do we book/use your services?

Drop me a message if you’d like to arrange a consultation meeting – remember to always meet your photographer – and I won’t let you book me unless we meet.
