Ever After Events | Wonderful Wedding Suppliers

Today we hear from Ever After Events! We, as wedding planners ourselves, know how important it is to find the right planner. We would also strongly recommend, if you can afford a planner, book one! You gain experience, advice and contacts that are invaluable in the planning process and ultimately can save you money in the long run! Let’s kick off as usual with some photos…

Who are you and what do you do?

Ever After is founded by a sisterly duo, with a passion for transforming weddings and events alike. Specialising in bespoke services to create celebrations that excite, we pride ourselves on delivering beautiful styling, stunning floral design and hand-picked finishing touches to make your day truly unique.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

Our favourite part of a wedding is the little moments before the main event. We visit the bride to deliver the bridal party bouquets and the atmosphere is contagious with a wonderful combination of nerves, happiness and curiosity. We love meeting family members who gaze admirably at their loved ones and the friends whom share the excitement as their best friend is about to embark on their biggest adventure yet.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Our best advice is to engage with wedding suppliers that you like. Personality is important, particularly when planning your special day, so recruit people that understand you, your wishes and your woes. It’ll make the whole planning experience more enjoyable and you’ll feel much more relaxed on the day.

What keeps you passionate?

We love meeting new couples and sharing new ideas – it’s these nuggets of loveliness that inspire us. Combine this with receiving wonderful feedback, it’s hard not to love what we do!

Do you like to keep up with trends?

We love seeing new trends emerge and how they evolve over time. Our favourite trend at the moment is the geometric style, with floral filled terrariums and lots of greenery. This trend looks gorgeous by day, but by night, candlelight dances off the angled glass shapes and creates another level of magic.

What’s next for your business?

We’re hoping to offer an internship programme to give people with a passion for parties the opportunity to work with us and progress their own personal and professional development.

How do we book/use your services?

Simply contact us via our website and we’d be delighted to welcome you to our creative studio for a complimentary consultation and a glass of champagne of course!

Who are you and what do you do?

I am Rob a Wedding Photographer living between Nottingham, UK and Frankfurt, Germany. I photograph people in love – all over the world. I also shoot weddings with my partner Alisha who lives in Germany and we love to travel around Europe capturing people in love.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

Each part of the day has its own uniqueness, each brings its own joy, love and thats all I care about.. capturing the love of two people on their wedding day is my favourite part.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Remember this is your day, I see so many weddings where people try to please their guests instead of themselves.. and also you only get one chance on your wedding day, you book a photographer to capture those moments, so down waste time and listen to your photographer and make time for photos. They are your record of the day forever and for future generations to look back on. So don’t waste time.

Do you like to keep up with trends? What’s your biggest trend to watch currently?

Each wedding is unique, each wedding is planned and thought about with their own style/trend.. So no matter what, I follow my couples ideas.. as for trends in photography, well things come and go as we learn.. I like to watch and learn and try new ideas in order to help my couples have a timeless collection of images to look back on.

What’s next for your business?

In the next two years I am slowly moving to be with my partner, Alisha. and small family in Germany. We are planning and creating a joint business in wedding photography between us to capture the love of marriage, explore and be happy across Europe and beyond.

Two Falling Stars | Wonderful Wedding Suppliers

This week on Wonderful Wedding Suppliers we hear from Two Falling Stars, so many people are opting out of the traditional hotel and church wedding it’s great to see a selection of independent celebrants on offer across the country!

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Awen and I run Two Falling Stars. I am an independent celebrant and create bespoke ceremonies for weddings and handfastings, namings and family blessings and I also do funerals.  I like to work with people who want to bring individuality and a little magic to their life celebrations. I’m happy to lead a ceremony pretty much anywhere, the only limit is your imagination.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

Probably when I give the final blessing in the wedding ceremony, all the preparation, all the nerves have built up to that. We’ve gotten through all the formal pieces of the ceremony, and its the bit where I get to confirm they are married and wish them well. It’s always quite emotional, seeing two people look each other in the eye knowing they are married is a special moment.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Go for what you want, not what everyone else thinks! This is your special day and you don’t want to look back in years to come and wish you had done something differently. Let it be a day that reflects you and your partner, not your mum or grandma!

What keeps you passionate?

I love to celebrate life! There is always something to celebrate and in fact I think we should celebrate more moments and rites of passage than perhaps we do.

Do you follow wedding trends?

I’m not really into trends, I love to read all the blogs and magazines and see what’s going on but I think everyone is unique.  If you want a trendy wedding have one, but if you don’t then don’t! Don’t do it just because it’s trendy, do it because it fits who you are.

What’s next for your business?

I want to see Two Falling Stars grow and work with as many quirky and magical people as the diary and life will allow! I’m also looking to expand into wedding and events planning in the next twelve months.

Awen has some really great advice for everyone here, if you want get in contact head over to www.twofallingstars.com. Dont forget to follow her on twitter @twofallingstars, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

The build up, getting ready with all the excitement.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Don’t ask for too many peoples opinions, it’s your day and you must follow your own hearts.

What keeps you passionate?

Definitely my family, my husband is my rock and our daughters keep us on our toes, but also, love, it’s always there, constant. No matter what else is going on in the world there is always love!

Hotel St Pierre | Wonderful Wedding Suppliers

This week on Wonderful Wedding Suppliers we hear from Hotel St Pierre in Yorkshire, part of the Best Western group. I am sure you will agree the photos are stunning!

Who are you?

Hotel St Pierre is set in the heart of Newmillerdam, a small, quaint village just outside of Wakefield. As well as being a few minutes’ walk away from Newmillerdam’s beautiful lake (a great backdrop for wedding photos!), we are conveniently located within a short drive’s distance of Wakefield and Leeds. We specialise in weddings and take pride in the stellar service we enjoy providing for happy couples and their guests.

Tell us about what you offer?

We believe every couple deserves their dream wedding, whether it’s an intimate occasion or an extravagant event. So, while we have a variety of packages available for brides and grooms to choose from, we also create bespoke weddings. We have a number of rooms which are licensed and approved to hold the ceremony, meaning the whole wedding can be catered for under one roof. From small intimate weddings of only 10 to grand weddings of up to 180, we have it covered. Although she won’t say so herself, one of our best assets is our amazing wedding coordinator, Melanie. From the couple’s very first meeting to their wedding breakfast, Melanie is there every step of the way to ensure everyone is as happy as can be.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

None of us in the office could agree on one part of a wedding we like the most so here are all of our favourites:

Melanie (Wedding Planner): I love every minute of a wedding! I enjoy seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces and the excitement of the couple as they prepare for their life together.

Richard (Deputy Manager): My favourite bit of any wedding would have to be the party. It’s a chance for everyone from toddlers to grandparents to really enjoy themselves. It’s also a great opportunity for everyone from both families to get to know each other because it’s very rare all those people will be in the same place.

Sarah (General Manager): I love the opportunity to dress up! It’s rare people make such an effort to be glamorous so I love seeing all the guests dressed up to the nines.

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Don’t get carried away, keep it simple and appreciate this special time in your life with your fiancé. While planning a wedding is super fun, it can be easy for couples to get wrapped up in the excitement of dresses and centre pieces and they forget what their wedding day is really about: celebrating their love for each other and the beginning of their life together.

What makes you different to others in the area?

Getting married at Hotel St Pierre allows couples to have their dream wedding and not have to spend their life savings! Because we believe every couple should have their perfect wedding, we offer a range of packages and bespoke weddings to suit everyone. We are very proud of our relationships with local and regional wedding suppliers; after we take the time to get to know our brides and grooms we recommend suppliers to them based on their personal taste. This includes our on-site spa, Tu Es belle, owned and run by award winning beauty expert, Liz Firth who offers fab beauty packages for brides and grooms. Newmillerdam also makes a stunning background for wedding photographs!

Do you have any events coming up?

Our Winter Wedding Fair is taking place on Sunday 26th February from 11am – 3pm. We’re excited to see some of our favourite wedding suppliers as well as some new faces! There will be approximately 35 exhibitors from bridal wear, photographers, wedding decor suppliers and make-up artists.

 How do we book?

Our wedding fairs are all free admission, simply come along, enjoy and talk to the many wedding suppliers who want to make your day extra special.

Wonderful Wedding Suppliers!

We are super excited to start the 3 day countdown to our brand new feature Wonderful Wedding Suppliers! We will be bringing you our very favourite selection of suppliers to help with every step of your wedding planning process! We have some amazing suppliers booked so far and hope to keep growing the selection over the next 12 months!

Posts will be filled with stacks of photos, tips and tricks and details about their favourite weddings, we have asked most suppliers the same questions so we thought we would answer them for you first!

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Emma Vincent and I run Little Tree Weddings, the blog you’re reading right now! I am based down in sunny Devon where I work for The Barn at South Milton alongside a little part time job in retail and running a couple of social networks for wedding companies. My husband, Mike, works away so weekends are dedicated to him! We also have a tiny little chihuahua named Lola. Weddings are my first passion, I love the whole process from the love story of how couples met, to the proposal, to planning each style of wedding (I also help plan weddings, see planning and styling)!

What’s your favourite part of a wedding?

My favourite part is the speeches! I love seeing the raw emotion come from different people, they are also quite unpredictable, you can never guess what will happen next! I love finding a spot out of sight where I can see the wedding party and watching all of the reactions! My biggest bit of advice is to have the speeches as soon in the day as you can, the people, who have more than likely spent a large amount of money on the wedding, will have the worry of getting the speeches done and won’t be able to enjoy the day as much as they deserve to!

What’s the best bit of advice you can give to couples in the planning process?

Spend your money on what you will have left after the wedding! Don’t plough all your money into stuff that will be gone in a day, spend it on getting the best photographer you can afford, a videographer if you can afford one and on wedding bands that will last a lifetime, you will have these to keep forever, not everyone will even know you choose the most expensive menu on offer and hardly anyone eats the evening food!

What keeps you passionate?

Positive feedback and views keep me passionate, while ever I can see people enjoying my content, even if it’s just one person I will keep putting it out there! Helping whoever you may be reading this to have an enjoyable wedding planning process is my main aim!

Do you like to keep up with trends? What’s your biggest trend to watch currently?

I love trends! I love being ahead of the curve in all aspects of my life, fashion, homewares, wedding trends! I am a big fan of change, I like to see what’s coming next and what’s staying in fashion again for another year! I also love finding ways of updating traditions and finding ways for the new to live alongside the old!

How do we book/use your services?
